UK to stop giving refugee protections to foreign sex offenders

UK will exclude foreign nationals who commit sex offences from refugee protections as the government announces new measures to reduce the asylum backlog and strengthen border security. The law change will be introduced through a new amendment to Border Security, Asylum and Immigration Bill. The government also said it would roll out AI across asylum processing to speed up decision-making.
