Ukraine to get its 1st Rafale jets as deal with France finalised

Ukraine is using a European loan facility to buy French Rafale fighter ​jets and next-generation Franco-Italian air and missile defence systems for the first time, as a deal with France was finalised on Tuesday. "First aircraft should be flying in Ukrainian skies in 2028-2029," French President Emmanuel Macron said. Ukraine will also receive licences to produce key Western missiles domestically.
