Ukrainians behind Torres Ponzi scheme that cheated 1.25 lakh people of ₹1,000 cr in Mumbai

Two Ukrainians, Viktoriia Kovalenko and Olena Stoin, are behind Mumbai-based Torres Jewellery's Ponzi scheme which cheated 1.25 lakh people reportedly of over ₹1,000 crore, according to Mumbai Police. The masterminds told employees they were returning home for Christmas but never returned. Torres employees ransacked the chain's stores across Mumbai after realising Kovalenko and Stoin had fled.
