UK's GSK settles first Zantac cancer lawsuit ahead of US trial

GSK settled a case with a US citizen who alleged that the UK company's discontinued heartburn drug Zantac caused cancer. With this move, GSK prevented the first such lawsuit from going to trial. The parties reached a confidential settlement. GSK said it would "continue to vigorously defend itself based on the facts and the science in all other Zantac cases".
