UK's National Health Service uses 10% of world's pagers

UK's National Health Service (NHS) reportedly uses 1.3 lakh pagers, amounting to nearly 10% of the devices in the world at present. The device was invented in the 1940s' and costs the UK exchequer over ₹55.7 crore annually. Critics have suggested using smartphone apps as a cheaper alternative to pagers.
