UK's plan to increase nuclear arsenal violates int'l pacts: Russia

The UK's plan to increase its nuclear warhead stock to 260 from 180 would violate several international treaties, including the Non-Proliferation Treaty, Russia's Ambassador Andrei Kelin said. The UK had said that it needed to increase its nuclear arsenal in the face of evolving global security threats. The political relationship between the UK and Russia is "nearly dead", Kelin added.
