UN body launches evacuation of 11,000 seafarers stuck near Strait of Hormuz
The United Nations' International Maritime Organization (IMO) has launched an operation to evacuate around 11,000 seafarers stuck near the Strait of Hormuz. "This large-scale operation will be carried out in close cooperation with Iran, Oman...[and] the
United States," IMO Secretary-General Arsenio Dominguez said. Under the plan, ships with 11,000 seafarers will be navigated through the strait.
