The United Nations General Assembly has passed a historic resolution to designate November 27 as the 'International Day for the Elimination of Child, Early, and Forced Marriage.' The resolution recognises child marriage as a grave human rights violation. Notably, this comes two years after India launched the 'Bal Vivah Mukt Bharat' campaign on November 27, 2024, to make India child-marriage-free.
