UN demands independent probe into Nigeria, Chad airstrikes

UN rights chief Volker Turk has called for independent investigations into deadly airstrikes by Nigerian and Chadian forces in northern Nigeria. Amnesty International said Nigerian strikes on a Zamfara market killed at least 100 civilians. Chadian attacks targeting Boko Haram camps also reportedly killed dozens of fishermen. The UN urged both militaries to protect civilians.
