UN Security Council expresses 'deep concern' over violence in Myanmar

The UN Security Council on Thursday expressed 'deep concern' over violence in Myanmar as the country marked the first anniversary of military rule in Myanmar on Tuesday. UNSC further called for the release of "all those who remain arbitrarily detained," including ousted leader Aung San Suu Kyi. Reportedly, at least 1,500 people were killed in year-long anti-coup demonstrations in Myanmar.
