UN urges AI companies to publicly disclose full environmental impact of their data centres

UN chief António Guterres has urged major AI companies to publicly disclose full environmental impact of their data centres. "No more hidden costs. No more shifting burden onto those least able to bear it. It is time to come clean," he said. He also urged the companies to commit to powering all data centres with renewable energy by 2030.
