Uncapped player price cap raised to ₹4 cr to fit MSD in IPL 2025: Gavaskar

Ex-India captain Sunil Gavaskar said limit for uncapped players was raised to ₹4 crore to accommodate MS Dhoni in IPL 2025. "It's hard to recall an uncapped player...who has justified his inclusion in...team," Gavaskar added. The uncapped player rule, which was scrapped in 2021, returned during IPL 2025 auction, which allowed Dhoni to get retained for ₹4 crore by CSK.
