Undersea mountain 4 times the height of world's tallest building Burj Khalifa found
A team of oceanographers led by Schmidt Ocean Institute have discovered a new seamount in the Pacific Ocean, about 1,448 kilometres off the coast of Chile. The newly-discovered underwater mountain is over 3,109 metres tall, nearly four times the height of the world's tallest building Burj Khalifa. The seamount supports a thriving deep-sea ecosystem, sponge gardens and ancient corals.
