Unemployment in Britain to hit 1980s levels without support: Labour Party

Unemployment in Britain could drop to a level not seen since the 1980s if the government doesn't provide support, Labour Party said. If support isn't provided from August, one million people could be jobless, increasing the total number to 3.8 million from the current 2.8 million. In 1984, unemployment in UK reached 3.3 million when Margaret Thatcher was the PM.
