Unemployment reason behind rise in crime: Pune Police Commissioner

Unemployment arising due to COVID-19 pandemic is the reason behind the rise in crime in the city, Pune Police Commissioner Amitabh Gupta said. "Mobile phone thefts...other small thefts have witnessed a gradual rise...will ensure all the criminals are dealt with strictly," Gupta added. "The wider use of surveillance technology will ensure...the crime rate is kept under check," he further said.
