Unilever to sell Lipton, Brooke Bond tea maker to CVC Capital for $5 billion

Unilever has agreed to sell its global tea business called Ekaterra to CVC Capital Partners for €4.5 billion (over $5 billion) on a cash-free, debt-free basis. Ekaterra has a portfolio of 34 brands, including Lipton, Brooke Bond and PG Tips. In 2020, the London-listed consumer goods company put its tea business under review amid a decline in black tea sales.
