UN declaration was signed on this day

The intergovernmental organization, United Nations (UN) was declared on 1st January 1942. The declaration was signed by the USA President Franklin D. Roosevelt, UK Prime Minister Winston Churchill, Soviet diplomat Maxim Litvinov, Chinese official Soong Tse-ven, and representatives of 22 more countries. From 26 at the time of declaration, the number of UN member states have now grown to 193.
