UnitedHealthcare names new CEO after murder of ex-CEO Thompson

UnitedHealthcare named Tim Noel as the company's new CEO on Thursday. Tim Noel, who was most recently chief executive of UnitedHealth’s Medicare division, will become CEO of the UnitedHealthcare business, the company said in an emailed statement. The appointment was made after the company's then-chief executive Brian Thompson was shot and killed in New York in December 2024.
