University of Arizona professor shot dead by ex-student on campus; accused held

A professor at the University of Arizona was shot dead on Wednesday on the campus in Tucson by an ex-student who was reportedly arrested later. Thomas Meixner was shot by the suspect at about 2 pm, sending the campus into lockdown for over an hour. "This incident is a deep shock to our community," the university said in a statement.
