Unseeded Safiullin defeats Shapovalov to reach Wimbledon quarters

Unseeded Roman Safiullin reached his maiden Grand Slam quarter-final when he secured a 3-6, 6-3, 6-1, 6-3 win over former world number 10 Denis Shapovalov at Wimbledon. The Russian became the 12th man to reach the quarter-finals on his Wimbledon main-draw debut. Shapovalov had aggravated an injury to his left leg, which left him hobbling around in pain.
