Unused ladies quota train berths to be given to women first

The Indian Railways has decided that unutilised berths under the ladies quota will be offered to women passengers on the wait-list first and then to senior citizens. Currently, vacant berths under the quota are offered to wait-listed passengers irrespective of gender. Reservation in trains is available for senior citizens, female passengers of above 45 and pregnant women.
