UP approves proposal to give free scooty, 5 litres of petrol to 50,000 girl students

Uttar Pradesh cabinet on Tuesday approved a proposal to provide free scooters to 50,000 meritorious girl students under the Rani Lakshmibai Scooty Yojana. The state government will bear the costs of registration, insurance, petrol, and a helmet along with the scooter. Higher Education Minister Yogendra Upadhyay said the annual family income of beneficiaries should be below ₹12 lakh.
