UP cracks down on illegal codeine trade, 85 arrested

Uttar Pradesh government has intensified action against the illegal codeine cough syrup trade. FSDA investigated 332 wholesale stores across 52 districts, uncovering fake supply chains and excessive distribution. Police and STF filed 79 cases, arresting 85 accused. Strict licensing, monitoring, and SIT investigations continue to curb misuse.
