UP energy minister slams UPPCL chief over electricity price hike, asks 'Why wasn't I informed'

UP Energy Minister AK Sharma has written a letter to Uttar Pradesh Power Corporation Limited (UPPCL) Chairman Ashish Goyal objecting to electricity tariff hikes and sought an explanation. "I come to know about decisions...through TV news channels," he said, adding, "Didn't you even think it was appropriate to ask me." Electricity rates in the state range from ₹3.35 to ₹6.50/unit.
