UP govt approves development of Bundelkhand's first tiger reserve
The Uttar Pradesh cabinet gave its approval for the development of the first tiger reserve in the state's Bundelkhand region. The cabinet approved notifying Ranipur Tiger Reserve under the Wildlife Protection Act, 1972. The tiger reserve will be spread across 52,989.863 hectares of land, including a buffer zone of 29,958.863 hectares, in the state's Chitrakoot district.
