The Uttar Pradesh government hiked the Home Guards' stipend by around 33%, making it the largest increase in the stipend in UP till date. It has been increased to ₹300 from ₹225, benefiting around 1,00,000 guards in the state. The improved rates will come into effect from April 1. A welfare fund for Home Guards' families is also in place.
