UP Govt's major crackdown on illegal codeine cough syrups

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has launched a major crackdown on illegal cough syrups containing codeine under the state’s zero tolerance policy. An SIT led by an IG-rank officer has been formed to probe the racket. Authorities confirmed no deaths from such syrups in the state. Massive raids across districts seized large quantities sold illegally as intoxicants.
