UP hikes workers' minimum wages by up to ₹3,000 after Noida protests
Uttar Pradesh announced interim wage hike of up to ₹3,000 for workers, effective April 1, after thousands of factory workers protested in Noida demanding increased wages. Unskilled workers in Gautam Buddha Nagar and Ghaziabad will now earn ₹13,690, up from ₹11,313; semi-skilled workers ₹15,059, up from ₹12,445; and skilled workers ₹16,868, revised upward from ₹13,940.
