UP judge with 23 death sentences moved to family court

Additional District and Sessions Judge Ravi Kumar Diwakar, who awarded 23 death sentences across 11 cases in six months (April–September), has been transferred to Muzaffarnagar's family court via an Allahabad High Court order. Shiv Kumari will replace him at the fast-track court. Diwakar had recently questioned withdrawal of 97 part-heard cases from his court.
