In reply to an RTI query, Moradabad Police Thursday blamed mobile phones, bad influence of western culture and indecent dressing among women as reasons behind rape. Further, it also said that television and vulgar advertisements have led to increased rapes. Criticizng the statement, former DGP Vikram Singh said, "It is an absurd statement and action must be taken against police."
