UP Police wins GovTech Awards for Fact Check, suicide alert

The Uttar Pradesh Police has secured two wins at the ET GovTech Awards 2026 for its 'UP Police Fact Check' and 'Meta Suicidal Alert' initiatives. The fact-check system counters online misinformation through a 24x7 monitoring desk. The Meta-backed alert system helps prevent suicides by enabling timely police response. Over 2,181 people have been saved through alerts since 2023, officials said.
