UP registers 128 FIRs, multiple arrests in anti-codeine drive

Uttar Pradesh DGP Rajeev Krishna said 128 FIRs have been registered across 28 districts under the joint action of police, FSDA and STF. Major hotspots such as Varanasi, Ghaziabad and Lucknow saw large-scale seizures of illegal codeine syrups. Overall, more than 20 accused have been arrested, while action is also being taken against people spreading misinformation on social media.
