UP teen kills mother with iron wrench amid gender surgery row

A 17-year-old allegedly killed his 42-year-old mother with an iron wrench after a dispute over his desire for gender-affirming surgery in Lucknow, police said. The teenager had been living and presenting as female. Police said his mother had reportedly opposed the procedure and advised medical and psychological intervention. The minor later informed police about the incident himself.
