UPI transaction value dips ₹2,500 cr in Aug after real-money gaming ban

Following Centre's ban on online real-money gaming, UPI transaction values decreased by ₹2,500 crore in August, according to NPCI. In August, the gaming category saw 271 million transactions worth ₹7,441 crore, a 25% drop compared to 351 million transactions worth over ₹10,076 crore in July. According to NPCI data, over 90% of real-money wallet loading happens through UPI.
