UP's IPS officers transferred at 4 times the Indian average

Uttar Pradesh has transferred its Indian Police Service (IPS) officers at four times the Indian average in last 10 years, an analysis of Bureau of Police Research and Development data revealed. "Political pressure, especially from parties that hold power, is the major reason for frequent transfers," said a former UP DGP. Notably, crime continues to increase in the state.
