America's flagship 250th Independence Day Parade, earlier scheduled for 10.30 am in Washington, DC, has been cancelled due to an extreme heat warning. Organisers said the decision was taken to ensure the safety of participants, spectators and staff as the heat index was forecast to reach 110°F-115°F in the District of Columbia.
