US' Pentagon implements ban on trans people joining military

US Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth has implemented the ban on transgender people joining military and ordered an immediate halt to all gender-affirming medical procedures for active-duty service members. Hegseth said individuals with gender dysphoria already in the military would be "treated with dignity and respect". There are about 15,000 transgender service members in the US military.
