US adds 2,61,000 jobs in October, unemployment rises to 3.7%

US Bureau of Labor Statistics reported that total nonfarm payroll employment increased by 2,61,000 in October, and the unemployment rate rose to 3.7%. The number of unemployed persons increased by 3,06,000 to 6.1 million. The jobless rates for adult men, teenagers, Blacks, Asians and Hispanics showed little or no change over the month, the report added.
