US alleges Chinese AI labs trained models to mimic US tech: Report

The United States has ordered a global diplomatic push alleging intellectual property (IP) theft by Chinese AI firms, Reuters reported. A diplomatic cable urged officials to raise “concerns over adversaries' use and distillation" where models are trained to mimic US AI models. The move follows DeepSeek unveiling its V4 model, which is said to be on par with US rivals.
