US allows federal employees to use TikTok on govt devices

US federal employees are now allowed to download and use TikTok on government-issued devices after the app was deemed no longer to pose a security risk. The ban was introduced in 2022 over concerns China could access user data through TikTok's parent company ByteDance. Recently, ByteDance transferred TikTok’s US operations to TikTok USDS, a joint venture owned by American investors.
