US army disables ad IDs on devices amid Iran tracking troops claim: Report

US army officials disabled advertising trackers on phones and computers after reports said Iran used it to track US' troop movement during the war, Reuters reported. The army said advertising IDs were blocked on computers "since before 2021" and disabled on mobile devices "since February 2026". Iran reportedly exploited flaws in mobile networks to locate phones outside their home networks.
