US asks Bangladeshi tourists to pay bond of up to ₹13 lakh

In a post on X, the US Embassy in Bangladesh's Dhaka said, "Starting January 21, 2026, all Bangladeshis approved for a B1/B2 (business/tourist) US visa must pay a bond of up to $15,000 (over ₹13 lakh). "The bond will be returned if you respect the terms of your visa," the embassy wrote.
