US asks WhatsApp for details of users targeted via Pegasus: Report

The US Department of Justice lawyers have asked WhatsApp for the details of 1,400 users targeted using Israel-based NSO Group's Pegasus software, The Guardian reported. However, it is not clear which suspected hacking targets the investigators are examining or what phase the investigation is in. NSO Group was reportedly facing an FBI investigation in early 2020.
