US bans drones over FIFA WC sites, violators to face up to $100,000 fines

The US Federal Aviation Administration said it'll ban drones over FIFA World Cup 2026 matches and related fan events nationwide to strengthen security. On match days, all aircraft operations, including drones, will be prohibited within a three-nautical-mile radius and up to 3,000 feet above stadiums. Violators could face fines of up to $100,000, criminal charges, and confiscation of the drone.
