The US carried out three executions in a single day for the first time in 16 years. Anthony Darrell Hines, Carlos Cuesta-Rodriguez and Jeremy Williams, all convicted of murder in separate cases, were executed by lethal injection within hours of each other in Oklahoma, Tennessee and Alabama. According to reports, the first two executions were exactly 30 minutes apart.
