US CDC eases COVID-19 guidelines for indoor mask wearing

The US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) on Friday eased its COVID-19 guidelines for the wearing of masks indoors. Based on the new guidelines, 72% of Americans reside in communities where wearing masks indoors is no longer recommended. Masks remain required on public transportation and at airports and train stations. The new guidelines apply regardless of vaccination status.
