US charges ex-Venezuelan Prez Maduro & wife over torture of opponents, Americans

Former Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro and his wife Cilia Flores, who were captured by US in January over alleged drug trafficking, were on Thursday charged with conspiring to torture political opponents and Americans. Meanwhile, Flores' request seeking release from jail due to her heart condition was also denied. They face 50 years in prison each if convicted of all charges.
