US Christian group charged in ₹92-cr FCRA case, use of funds to 'brainwash' poor people
The CBI registered a case against US-based Christian organisation The Timothy Initiative (TTI) and six local persons for allegedly withdrawing foreign funds worth about ₹92.55 crore from ATMs in India. It said TTI withdrew money without being registered under Foreign Contribution (Regulation) Act. The funds were used for "brainwashing of poor people, leading to left-wing extremism", FIR alleged.
