US clears $482 mn package for India's Apache helicopters & M777 Howitzers

US has cleared a $482.2 million package for the proposed sale of support services and related equipment for India's AH-64E Apache attack helicopters and M777A2 Ultra-Light Howitzers. Boeing Company and Lockheed Martin will be the principal contractors for the Apaches, while BAE Systems, will be the contractor for the Howitzers. Package would increase strategic partnership with India, US said.
