US completes 1st Venezuelan oil sale worth $500 million

The US has completed its first sale of Venezuelan oil worth $500 million, according to multiple reports. Proceeds from the sale are being held in US government-controlled bank accounts, including one in Qatar. After capturing Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro, the US had said Venezuela would hand over up to 50 million barrels of oil, valued at about $2 billion.
